Trustee Elections

The Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust (the Trust) governs the settlement assets of the Trust on behalf of registered members of Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika.

Trustee positions are held for a 3 year term. Any retiring trustee can stand for re-election if they choose.

The election process is managed by Electionz, an independent election management service.

2025 Trustee Elections – Key Dates

 * Thursday 14 August 2025 – Nominations open

 * Thursday 4 September 2025 – Nominations close at 12 noon; Iwi register closes at 5 pm

 * Wednesday 15 October 2025 – Voting opens; voter packs posted to adult members

 * Monday 17 November 2025 – Voting closes at 12 noon (postal flush period then applies)

 * Thursday 20 November 2025 – Election results declared and published on the PNBST website

Nominations

Nominations must:

* Be made on the official Nomination Form

 * Be received by the Returning Officer by 12 noon, Thursday 4 September 2025

 * Be supported by five adult registered members of PNBST (nominators must include their membership number)

 * Include a candidate profile statement (max 250 words) and an optional recent head-and-shoulders photograph

Candidates must be:

 * 18 years or older

* Individually registered and verified members of PNBST

* Not disqualified under clause 12.1 of the Trust Deed (refer to Info Sheet for details)
